Uzbekistan Airports has reported continued growth across all key aviation indicators in the first quarter of 2026, with increases recorded in passenger traffic, flight operations, and cargo transportation.
Between January and March 2026, airports across the country served a total of 3.98mn passengers, marking a 19% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Of the total, 3.32mn passengers travelled on international routes, while 663,554 passengers were served on domestic flights.
During the reporting period, Uzbekistan’s airports handled 30,859 flights, which is 10% more than in the first quarter of 2025. Of these, 22,885 flights were on international routes, while 7,974 were domestic flights connecting cities within the country.
Tashkent International Airport maintained its position as the country’s main aviation hub, serving 2.56mn passengers and handling nearly 19,000 flights in the first quarter of the year.
Regional airports also recorded strong passenger traffic. Samarkand served 376,400 passengers, Urgench 222,000 passengers, Namangan 210,100 passengers, and Fergana 161,200 passengers, reflecting steady growth in domestic connectivity and regional air travel demand.
The aviation cargo segment also showed positive momentum. A total of 19,783 tonnes of cargo and mail were transported through Uzbekistan’s airports in the first quarter of 2026, which is 14% higher compared to the same period last year.
Uzbekistan Airports noted that the results continue a broader upward trend following strong performance in 2025, when the country’s airports served 15.5mn passengers overall, supported by growth across both international and domestic routes.
