Uzbekistan recorded 1,159 people relocating from foreign countries for permanent residence in 2025, according to the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.
The majority of arrivals came from regional partners and neighboring states, with Russia accounting for 39.9%, followed by Kazakhstan (20.3%), Tajikistan (10.3%), Kyrgyzstan (4.3%), and Turkmenistan (3.1%), while other countries made up 22.1% of the total.
In terms of regional distribution, most new residents settled in Tashkent city (698 people) and Tashkent region (275 people), reflecting the capital’s economic and social attractiveness. Other destinations included Karakalpakstan (101) and smaller numbers across regions such as Syrdarya, Fergana, Jizzakh, Navoi, Bukhara, Khorezm, Kashkadarya, Samarkand, and Namangan.
Uzbekistan has also seen rising inflows of visitors, with 1.77mn foreign arrivals recorded in January–February 2026, up 33% year-on-year. In 2025, the country had welcomed 10.7mn foreign visitors, reflecting growing regional connectivity and attractiveness.
