Uzbekistan produced UZS 43.1trillion ($3.45bn) worth of garments through large enterprises in 2025, marking a 21.7% year-on-year increase, as National Statistics Committee reports.
Andijan region accounted for nearly half of total output, producing UZS 19.7trillion ($1.58bn) worth of clothing, far ahead of other regions. Namangan followed with UZS 3.9trillion ($312mn), while Tashkent region produced UZS 3.6trillion ($288mn). Output in Tashkent city reached UZS 2.9trillion ($232mn), closely followed by Fergana region at UZS 2.8trillion ($224mn).
Mid-tier contributors included Navoi (UZS 2.1trillion; $168mn), Kashkadarya (UZS 1.8trillion; $144mn) and Bukhara (UZS 1.8trillion; $144mn). Samarkand produced UZS 1.3trillion ($104mn) worth of garments.
Lower output levels were recorded in Surkhandarya (UZS 634.9bn; $50.8mn), Jizzakh (UZS 576.3bn; $46.1mn), Khorezm (UZS 565.9bn; $45.3mn), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (UZS 560.3bn; $44.8mn), and Syrdarya (UZS 442.2bn; $35.4mn).
Earlier reports indicate that Uzbekistan is stepping up support for the textile and apparel sector to sustain growth. Under a presidential decree, domestic textile companies can access bank loans of up to $2mn, backed by funds from the Agency for the Development of Light Industry, to support expansion and integration into global supply chains.
The government has also set targets to raise total textile production to UZS 147trillion ($12.2bn) and increase textile exports to $3.3bn in 2026, as part of broader efforts to deepen cotton processing and expand high value-added manufacturing.
