Uzbekistan produced 148,859 passenger cars between January and April 2026, up by 13,492 units compared with the same period last year, according to the Statistics Committee.
The country’s most-produced model during the first four months of the year was the Cobalt, with 53,802 vehicles assembled. That was 9,055 more than during the same period in 2025.
The second-highest output was recorded by Damas, with 28,352 units, although production declined by 1,603 vehicles year-on-year. Manufacturers also produced 14,518 Tracker vehicles and 12,259 Onix cars during the reporting period.
Production of Kia vehicles reached 8,882 units. Meanwhile, BYD assembled 7,011 vehicles in Uzbekistan between January and April, increasing output by 2,744 units compared with the same period last year.
Production of Chery vehicles totaled 2,572, slightly down from 2,773 a year earlier. At the same time, Haval increased output to 3,425 vehicles, up from 2,634 in the first four months of 2025.
The latest figures come as Uzbekistan continues expanding its automotive sector under the Uzbekistan–2030 strategy. In 2025, the country produced a total of 457,883 passenger cars.
Under official targets, production is expected to reach 460,000 units in 2026, 550,000 in 2027 and 700,000 in 2028. The plan projects annual output rising further to 800,000 vehicles by 2029 and approaching 1mn passenger cars by 2030, more than doubling current production levels.
The automotive sector remains one of Uzbekistan’s largest industrial segments and a major contributor to manufacturing output, exports and employment.
