Uzbekistan hosts a total of 683 enterprises with South Korean capital participation, according to data from the National Statistics Committee.
As of December 1, 2025, 182 of these companies operate as joint ventures, while the remaining 501 are fully foreign-owned enterprises.
In terms of sectoral distribution, industry accounts for the largest share with 142 enterprises, followed by trade with 129 companies. Construction hosts 54 South Korea-backed firms, while accommodation and food services account for 47.
Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries include 31 enterprises, matching the number operating in information and communications. Transport and storage services account for 16 companies, while healthcare and social services host 15. The remaining 226 enterprises operate across other sectors of the economy.
South Korea remains one of Uzbekistan’s key foreign economic partners, with its investments spread across a wide range of industries.
Earlier, Uzbekistan’s Migration Agency signed a cooperation agreement with South Korea’s Gyeongsangnam-do Province under the E-7 skilled worker visa program, creating new employment opportunities for young Uzbek specialists in key industrial sectors of the region.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev previously met with a delegation of South Korea’s National Assembly, led by Speaker Woo Won-shik, during the third meeting of parliamentary leaders from South Korea and Central Asian countries.
