Uzbek citizens can now study free courses and secure jobs in Japan’s construction sector, according to the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan.
During a visit to Japan in May, the agency’s leadership reached an agreement with Proud Partners, a Japanese company, to train Uzbek drivers in the Japanese language and profession, preparing them for high-paying employment opportunities in Japan.
As part of the initiative, a symbolic project opening was held in Tashkent in September. On December 7, competitions were organized for over 200 candidates holding category B–C driver’s licenses who expressed interest in working in Japan.
Starting December 15, online competitions will be held for 700 registered candidates aiming to work in the construction sector. Successful applicants will undergo free 6–8 month training courses at the Center for the Training of Qualified Specialists in the Construction Sector at Technical School No. 2, located at 1 Yuri Gagarin Street, Angren.
Accommodation will be provided free of charge during the training period. After completing the courses and required procedures, participants will begin working in Japan.
The Migration Agency stated that results of the competitions and the start date for training will be announced by December 20.
This program follows a July 2024 invitation from Shimizu Corporation, one of Japan’s largest construction companies, which sought Uzbek builders aged 18–35 willing to work in Japan for up to five years.
