Over the past 10 years, the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has strengthened its position as a key center of economic development, with the Union’s GDP growing by 18% to exceed $2.5 trillion, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev said at the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting in Cholpon-Ata.

Speaking in an expanded format session, Kasymaliev reported that industrial production within the EAEU has increased by nearly 30%, agricultural output by 25%, and mutual trade has more than doubled since the Union’s establishment.
For Kyrgyzstan, he noted, GDP in real terms has grown 1.5 times, GDP per capita has doubled, mutual trade with EAEU members has doubled, industrial production has risen by 55%, and agricultural production by 23%.
“The past decade has been difficult, marked by global challenges and rising protectionism in world trade. However, through joint government efforts, close cooperation, and active business participation, we have maintained sustainable economic growth,” Kasymaliev stated.

He emphasized that the achievements reflect not only national economic policies but also expanding regional cooperation. Over the decade, the EAEU has concluded seven trade agreements and strengthened partnerships with integration associations across Eurasia and beyond.
Kasymaliev also addressed the climate agenda, underlining the need for flexible, adaptive standards, and reaffirmed the importance of implementing the Eurasian Integration Strategy until 2025, while preparing for the next five-year phase.

The Prime Minister identified key priorities for the coming years, including:
- Enhancing financing conditions for joint industrial cooperation projects;
- Establishing an integrated transport and logistics network connected to international corridors;
- Expanding the single digital space and digitizing customs processes;
- Improving the single labor market and labor mobility.
“In the context of global transformation, we must turn the EAEU into a harmoniously developed pole of a multipolar world by 2030, ensuring high technological progress and improved living standards,” Kasymaliev concluded.

Following the meeting, the Council adopted several decisions, including:
- Approval of a program to develop exchange trading within the Union’s common market;
- Amendments to the coordinated transport policy roadmap for 2024–2026;
- Annual reporting on competition in cross-border markets;
- Concepts for developing common markets for medicines and medical devices;
- Distribution of import customs duties among member states;
- Proposals for appointments to the Council and Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission;
- Scheduling of the next Council meeting.
