The IV World Conference on Creative Economy, an event dedicated to the power of creativity and innovation, kicked off on October 2 in Tashkent. Saida Mirziyoyeva, Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan, actively participated in the opening session.
The event gathered over 2,000 participants from more than 80 countries, providing a platform to discuss the future of creative industries, exchange experiences, and explore new opportunities for international collaboration.
At the conference, it was highlighted that cultural and creative industries generate $2.3 trillion annually, representing 3.1% of global GDP. This figure is projected to grow by 10% by 2030, underlining the rising importance of the creative economy.
Running until October 4, the conference includes various meetings, panel discussions, and masterclasses, alongside a vibrant cultural program featuring art exhibitions and networking opportunities.
At the end of the event, Uzbekistan’s Youth Affairs Agency and the Fund for the Development of Culture and Art are set to launch a start-up contest aimed at young talents, offering them a chance to present innovative projects.
The first Creative Economy Conference took place in Indonesia in 2018, and the initiative continues to foster the transition from resource-based to knowledge-based economies, while promoting international cooperation for sustainable growth.
