Kyrgyzstan and Montenegro have formalized an agreement to exempt holders of diplomatic and service passports from visa requirements. This agreement was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
On September 26, during the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev met with Montenegro's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ervin Ibrahimovic.
Minister Kulubaev briefed Minister Ibrahimovic on the current situation in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia, outlining the priority areas for the country’s domestic and international policy. He emphasized efforts in combating climate change, enhancing security, and developing transport corridors.
In response, Minister Ibrahimovic provided insights into Montenegro’s initiatives in energy and tourism development, particularly in mountainous regions, suggesting these projects could serve as a model for strengthening relations between the two countries.
Both parties agreed to enhance political dialogue and trade relations, discussing plans for future political consultations and high-level visits. They also committed to closer collaboration within international organizations, specifically regarding Kyrgyzstan’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council for the term 2027-2028.
