From January to August 2024, the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AMMC) reported that it met and exceeded its export projections. Over this period, the company exported goods worth over $425mn, achieving 118.8% of its forecasted target.
AMMC’s copper product exports reached 36,219 tons, fulfilling 140.9% of the forecast. In addition, the company exported 18,337 tons of zinc products. Copper sulfate exports were particularly notable, with 8,121 tons shipped, surpassing the forecast by 150.4%.
Other key exports included rhenium, cadmium, palladium powder, and molybdenum products. AMMC exported 520 tons of molybdenum, achieving 108.3% of its target, and 11,302 tons of lead concentrate, fulfilling 109.8% of the forecast.
AMMC has continued to expand its export markets, now supplying products to 19 countries. In 2024, new markets were established for copper wire rods and copper sulfate, with exports to Guinea, Senegal, Serbia, South Africa, Morocco, and Portugal.
