SC Solar has delivered Uzbekistan’s first automated photovoltaic (PV) module production line, marking an advancement in the country’s renewable energy sector. This high-profile project, attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, stresses SC Solar’s role in transforming Uzbekistan’s solar energy capabilities.
The automated production line, fully installed by the end of December 2023 and commencing trial production in January 2024, represents a comprehensive turnkey solution provided by SC Solar. This solution includes the entire production line setup and equipment, facilitating a streamlined approach to PV module manufacturing.
The project, realized through a $10mn investment by SC Solar and Uzbek power company Electro-Engineering Inc., is set to achieve an annual production capacity of 200 MW, producing around 273,000 PV modules each year.
During his visit, President Mirziyoyev commended the project and offered strategic guidance, emphasizing its potential to enhance Uzbekistan’s self-sufficiency in PV module production and boost its competitiveness in the global solar market.
SC Solar’s involvement in this project highlights its commitment to advancing PV manufacturing technology and providing intelligent production solutions. The company aims to deepen its engagement in Central Asia, supporting the region’s green energy transition and expanding its global presence.
