At the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President Yoon Suk Yeol of South Korea will undertake a state visit to Uzbekistan from June 13-15. This visit aims to enhance the Uzbek-Korean friendship and their special strategic partnership.
During President Yoon's stay in Tashkent, a series of high-level negotiations will take place, focusing on key areas of cooperation. These discussions will primarily address expanding bilateral trade and enhancing economic ties, promoting collaboration in cutting-edge technologies, exploring opportunities in energy projects, and strengthening partnerships in electronics and electrical engineering.
Additionally, the chemical industry and agricultural sectors will be discussed to facilitate joint ventures and knowledge exchange, along with infrastructure development projects to support economic growth.
Beyond economic cooperation, the visit will also cover joint programs in various sectors such as education, healthcare, culture, sports, and tourism. Enhancing educational exchange programs and cooperation, discussing joint healthcare initiatives, promoting cultural exchanges, and boosting tourism between the two nations will be on the agenda. The two leaders will also exchange views on regional cooperation, particularly within the "Central Asia – Republic of Korea" format, emphasizing the importance of regional stability and development.
As part of the visit, Presidents Mirziyoyev and Yoon will participate in a joint business forum, bringing together business leaders from both countries to explore new opportunities for trade and investment.
President Yoon Suk Yeol will also visit the historic city of Samarkand, providing an opportunity to appreciate Uzbekistan’s rich cultural and historical heritage, further strengthening cultural ties between South Korea and Uzbekistan.
Earlier Daryo reported that President Yoon Suk Yeol of South Korea is set to embark on a state visit to Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan to strengthen business relations and explore new opportunities for cooperation with Central Asian countries.
