The Uzbekistan para-athletics team has made history at the World Paraathletics Championships held in Kobe, Japan, from May 17 to 25, winning a total of 13 medals, comprising 7 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze, as reported by the press service of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan.
Out of 103 participating countries, Uzbekistan's para-athletes showcased exceptional talent and determination, improving upon their 10th and 9th place finishes in the previous editions of the championships.
In addition to the team's outstanding success, individual para-athletes from Uzbekistan also left their mark on the championships by setting new world records in their respective events. Nurkhon Kurbonova and Asila Mirzayorova showcased exceptional skill and determination, breaking world records in their specialized areas.
