    Uzbekistan's para-athletes win 13 medals at World Championships in Japan

    The Uzbekistan para-athletics team has made history at the World Paraathletics Championships held in Kobe, Japan, from May 17 to 25, winning a total of 13 medals, comprising 7 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze, as reported by the press service of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan.

    This medal haul propelled Uzbekistan to a historic 3rd place in the overall team standings, a first-time achievement for the nation in the history of the championships.

    Out of 103 participating countries, Uzbekistan's para-athletes showcased exceptional talent and determination, improving upon their 10th and 9th place finishes in the previous editions of the championships.

    In addition to the team's outstanding success, individual para-athletes from Uzbekistan also left their mark on the championships by setting new world records in their respective events. Nurkhon Kurbonova and Asila Mirzayorova showcased exceptional skill and determination, breaking world records in their specialized areas.

    The medalists from Uzbekistan at the World Paraathletics Championships include:

    Gold Medalists:

    1. Kudratullahon Marufkhodjaev - Shot Put
    2. Kudratullahon Marufkhodjaev - Discus Throw
    3. Khusniddin Norbekov - Shot Put
    4. Nurkhon Kurbonova - Javelin Throw
    5. Asila Mirzayorova - Long Jump
    6. Yokutkhon Kholbekova - Long Jump
    7. Safiya Burkhanova - Shot Put

    Silver Medalists:

    1. Boburzhon Omonov - Shot Put
    2. Dilafruz Akhmadkhonova - Shot Put
    3. Kubaro Khakimova - Shot Put
    4. Mohigul Khamdamova - Discus Throw

    Bronze Medalists:

    1. Marufjon Muradululev - 400m Run
    2. Nurkhon Kurbonova - Shot Put
