Iran delivers 20 tons of humanitarian aid to flood-affected Afghanistan
Iran delivered 20 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan on May 23, aiding those affected by severe flooding, as was informed by Etilaatroz.
The aid arrived at Mazari Sharif International Airport in northern Afghanistan and included tents, warm blankets, food, and medicine. These supplies are crucial for providing immediate relief to the flood victims.
Iran's Consul General in Mazar-e-Sharif, Hamidrizo Ahmadi, attended the ceremony for the aid's arrival. Ahmadi announced that another shipment of humanitarian aid would be sent in the coming weeks, stating,
“This is the first humanitarian aid sent by Tehran to Afghanistan, and we are committed to supporting citizens affected by the flood.”
In addition to Iran, Qatar, Turkey, and Uzbekistan have also sent aid to Afghanistan, focusing on the northern regions, including the Balkh province. This international assistance is essential for helping the flood-affected communities rebuild their lives.
