Uzbekistan and Cyprus sign an intergovernmental agreement on visa exemption for diplomats, as it was announced by the press service of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov on May 15.
The agreement, inked by Bakhtiyor Saidov and his Cypriot counterpart Constantinos Kombos, marks a milestone in the bilateral relations between the two nations. With a focus on expanding cooperation across various fronts, including political, economic, and cultural domains, both countries have reiterated their commitment to enhancing their partnership.
"Our agenda is focused on expanding bilateral relations in all dimensions, strengthening the legal framework for cooperation, supporting friendly ties between parliaments and much more. Without a doubt, promoting dynamic economic diplomacy remains our top priority," remarked Minister Saidov.
This latest agreement follows Uzbekistan's recent move to waive visa requirements for its diplomats traveling to Saudi Arabia. The reciprocal visa exemption between Uzbekistan and Cyprus aims not only to facilitate smoother diplomatic exchanges but also to boost mutual tourist flows and deepen cooperation in key sectors such as education and agriculture.
