Uzbekistan occupies a leading position in the development of the crypto industry among the CIS countries, as it was expressed by the participants of the Pioneering Progress summit in Tbilisi, reports the National Agency for Advanced Projects (NAPP).
Uzbekistan took center stage at the "Pioneering Progress" summit held in Tbilisi, Georgia on May 10-11, 2024. Hosted by NAPP, the delegation participated in discussions revolving around digital finance, regulatory dynamics, artificial intelligence, and the sustainability of telecommunication technologies.
The summit, attended by representatives from government agencies and the private sector across Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and beyond, served as a platform for exchanging insights and best practices in navigating the evolving landscape of digital finance and emerging technologies.
Distinguished speakers at the event included Georgia's Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, G. Arveladze, Acting Chairman of the National Bank of Georgia, N. Turnava, and Paolo Ardoino, Chief Executive Officer of Tether, among others.
Panel discussions delved into topics such as the implementation and utilization of stable tokens, the integration of artificial intelligence, advancements in telecommunications technologies, and the regulatory framework governing the crypto-asset market.
Uzbekistan's delegation seized the opportunity to showcase its experience in regulating crypto-assets, garnering significant interest and commendation from summit participants.
Of particular note was Uzbekistan's legislative strides in March 2024, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the NAPP and Tether. The agreement paves the way for collaborative efforts in advancing blockchain technology, stable tokens, and asset tokenization within Uzbekistan's economic landscape, with a shared focus on fostering innovation and driving economic growth.
