The Ministry of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan has announced that the head office of German multinational company Henkel in the Central Asian region has been relocated from Russia to Kazakhstan.
On April 12, Azamat Panbaev, Chairman of the Industry Committee, held discussions with Mikhail Ershov, the regional general director of Henkel. During the meeting, Ershov outlined the company's strategic plans for business development in Kazakhstan, emphasizing the completion of the transfer of Henkel's regional office for Central Asia and the Caucasus to Kazakhstan. Additionally, Ershov highlighted Henkel's considerations regarding the optimization of production processes in response to the growing complexity of logistics and industrial chains.
Presently, Henkel operates a production plant in the Kazakh city of Konaev, manufacturing building mixtures under the renowned Metylan and Ceresit brands. This facility serves not only the domestic market but also exports its products to neighboring countries such as Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Another production site, located in Georgia, caters to the markets of the South Caucasus region.
According to Forbes.kz, the restructuring comes in the wake of the closure of Henkel's production facilities in Russia, prompting the company to reassess its operational landscape in the CIS countries. As part of its strategic realignment, Henkel aims to explore opportunities for localizing the production of various product lines, aligning with its objective of bringing production closer to consumers. Concurrently, the company plans to make further investments in the production of construction mixtures, signaling its commitment to meeting the evolving demands of the regional market.
