The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Israel issued a safety advisory for Uzbek citizens residing in the country, urging them to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary outings due to the current regional tensions. The embassy emphasized the importance of vigilance and the adoption of precautionary measures to ensure personal safety.
The advisory comes in the context of increased military activity in the region. Recently, Israeli warplanes conducted an airstrike on the Iranian embassy in Syria. This attack, which is part of ongoing hostilities, resulted in the deaths of seven military personnel, including three high-ranking officers.
According to reports, this marks a significant escalation, as it is the first time the embassy compound itself has been targeted, despite previous strikes aimed at Iranian military facilities in Syria.
Additionally, this military action coincides with Israel's responses to attacks by the Palestinian group Hamas, which intensified in October 2023. The situation remains highly volatile, prompting the Uzbek embassy to caution its citizens currently in Israel.
