President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan embarked on a diplomatic visit to Uzbekistan on April 5, in response to an invitation extended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, presidential press service of Uzbekistan reported.
Upon his arrival, President Tokayev received a warm welcome from President Mirziyoyev at the Urganch international airport. The airport was adorned with the flags of both countries, setting a symbolic backdrop for the visit.
The visit commenced with a grand ceremony featuring traditional national songs and dances, showcasing the cultural richness and heritage of Uzbekistan. Such ceremonial gestures underscored the spirit of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
Central to the visit's agenda are bilateral talks between the leaders, aimed at enhancing cooperation and exploring avenues for mutual benefit across various sectors. Additionally, the leaders will have the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the historical treasures of the ancient city of Khiva, further deepening their understanding of the rich cultural heritage shared by Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
