The Jerooy deposit, situated in the Talas region of Kyrgyzstan, produced 4,400 kg of gold in 2023, contributing $168mn in taxes. The company reported that through the utilization of modern equipment and rigorous personnel training, they have reached unprecedented levels of productivity in 2023.
Record-breaking Output
The Talas gold mining plant, operated by Alliance Altyn, concluded the year with a production output of 4,400 kg of gold.
The success of Alliance Altyn extends beyond its operational achievements. Over the course of its tenure at the Jerooy deposit, the company has made substantial contributions to the fiscal health of Kyrgyzstan. Through tax payments, Alliance Altyn has injected a total of KGS 15,042mn ($168mn) into the national budget, further bolstering economic development initiatives in the country.
Uzbekistan's NMMC
The Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combinat of Uzbekistan, which oversees the Muruntau gold mine, contributed $360.7mn in taxes in 2023. The mine has been the leader in gold production until May of 2023 when Indonesian Grasberg outperformed it.
In 2022, the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine produced approximately 1.7mn ounces (approximately 48,194 kg) of precious metal from the deposit. Total reserves at Muruntau are estimated at 150mn ounces (approximately 4.3mn kg), making it the largest supplier of gold in Uzbekistan.
