To support and encourage the active involvement of young Uzbek nationals in social life, the Uzbek Student Union (UzTU) will soon be inaugurated in Great Britain, Dunyo reports. This initiative, spearheaded by a group of Uzbek students with the backing of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London, aims to unite Uzbek students studying at universities across the UK.
Uniting Young Uzbek Minds
The establishment of the Uzbek Student Union seeks to create a cohesive platform for Uzbek students in Great Britain, fostering educational opportunities and facilitating their active engagement across various domains. With over 600 Uzbek students enrolled in prestigious institutions like Oxford, Cambridge, Edinburgh, and the London School of Economics, alongside 120 scholarship recipients of the "El-yurt umidi" fund, the union endeavors to strengthen ties and promote collaboration among young talents.
Promoting Professional and Personal Development
Central to its mission, the Uzbek Student Union will play a pivotal role in nurturing the professional and personal growth of its members. By fostering cultural and educational exchanges between Uzbekistan and Great Britain, the union aims to enrich the academic experience of Uzbek students while promoting mutual understanding and cooperation.
Moreover, the establishment of the Uzbek Student Union will enable students to collaborate effectively, exchange experiences and knowledge, and advocate for their rights and interests. Through collective action and mutual support, members will have a platform to address common challenges and pursue shared goals.
Official Inauguration Ceremony
The official opening ceremony of the Uzbek Student Union is scheduled to take place on March 2nd at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Great Britain. The event will feature the intellectual game "Zakovat," providing students with an opportunity for camaraderie and intellectual engagement.
Earlier, it was reported that the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Great Britain engaged in discussions with the leadership of Oxford University. The negotiations focused on the establishment of academic collaboration between Oxford University and Uzbekistan's higher education institutions and scientific research institutes, with a particular emphasis on specialized training programs provided by "Wolfson College" at the British University.
