Kazakhstan is actively engaging in negotiations with potential partners, including industry giants like Microsoft, Google, and Amazon with a goal to attract them to data processing centers and supercomputer projects, Tengrinews reports.
Exploring Collaboration Opportunities
The Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry is currently in the initial stages of negotiations with these companies, with a focus on leveraging their expertise to realize ambitious supercomputer projects that harness cutting-edge technologies.
A spokesperson for the ministry stated, "The ministry is studying the possibilities of attracting large companies such as Microsoft, Google, and Amazon to data processing centers and supercomputer projects in Kazakhstan. In particular, at the initial stage, negotiations are being held with a number of companies on the implementation of a supercomputer project using the most modern technologies."
Parallel Partnerships in Progress
Despite the recent contract signing with Presight AI for the construction of a supercomputer, Kazakhstan remains committed to exploring collaborative ventures with other prospective partners. The agreement with Presight AI, while significant, is viewed as one facet of a broader initiative encompassing cooperation with multiple international technology companies.
The ministry clarified, "PresightAI will be a partner in this project, and the project itself to build and use the supercomputer includes cooperation with all international technology companies. From the use of their technologies to the joint development of artificial intelligence in Kazakhstan."
Pioneering Artificial Intelligence Development
The establishment of a supercomputer in Kazakhstan carries profound implications for the nation's technological landscape, positioning it as a leader in Central Asia's artificial intelligence domain. By leveraging cutting-edge computing capabilities, Kazakhstan aims to propel advancements in artificial intelligence, fostering innovation and progress within the region.
As per the ministry, the creation of a supercomputer in Kazakhstan will not only elevate its status as a regional leader in artificial intelligence development but will also facilitate the leasing of computing power to neighboring countries.
