A joint statement was signed by both leaders, confirming their desire to comprehensively strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields. This move aims to enrich the content of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China under all conditions.
Key agreements
Several key agreements were signed in the presence of the leaders, covering a wide range of sectors:
- Environmental Protection: An agreement was signed between the governments of both nations to cooperate in the field of environmental protection.
- Technical and Economic Cooperation: Both governments agreed to enhance technical and economic cooperation.
- Human Resources Development: An agreement was signed to cooperate on the development of human resources.
- State Research Institutions Cooperation: Both governments agreed to cooperate in the field of state research institutions.
- Chinese Language Teaching: The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Education of China agreed to cooperate in the field of Chinese language teaching.
- Phytosanitary Requirements and Control: A protocol was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and the General Administration of Customs of China on phytosanitary requirements and control in the export of peas from Uzbekistan to China.
- China-Central Asia-Europe Railway Expressway: A protocol was signed to deepen cooperation on the China-Central Asia-Europe railway expressway.
- New Electric Vehicles: Both nations agreed to develop cooperation in the field of new electric vehicles.
- Poverty Reduction: A memorandum of agreement was signed between the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China on cooperation in the field of poverty reduction.
- Scientific and Technical Cooperation: A memorandum of cooperation was signed to further strengthen scientific and technical cooperation.
- Standardization: A protocol was signed on cooperation in the field of standardization.
- Air Silk Road: An agreement was signed to jointly establish the “Air Silk Road” between the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
- Tourism Cooperation Plan (2024-2026): A plan was agreed upon between the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China.
- Partnership Relations: Agreements were signed to establish partnership relations between Tashkent region and Shaanxi province, and between the cities of Samarkand and Qingdao.
Earlier, it was reported that the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with Wu Fulin, Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of China (Eximbank of the PRC), as part of a series of events in Beijing on January 24. The bank’s plans for opening a regional office in Tashkent were reviewed during the meeting, which is expected to further boost this cooperation.
