On January 22 morning, a discovery was made at the Mera Gaon Mera Desh resort in Kami village, Sonepat. The lifeless bodies of a young man and woman, both found in a semi-nude state, were discovered in one of the resort’s rooms, The Tribune reports.
The Victims
The victims have been identified as Himanshu, a 26-year-old man from Ashok Vihar in Delhi, and Abduleva, a 32-year-old woman from Uzbekistan. They had checked into the resort around 8:30 pm on January 21.
The Discovery
Concerns arose when there was no sign of the couple’s exit from the room on January 22 morning. Upon peering through a window, the hotel staff made the unsettling discovery of the lifeless couple lying on the bed. Law enforcement authorities were immediately notified.
Investigation Underway
Sonipat Sadar police station in-charge Karamjit Singh told reporters that the exact cause of their deaths can be ascertained only after the post-mortem. “Forensic experts were called to the spot. They inspected the room and collected evidence. We also recovered a liquor bottle and certain other things from the room. Himanshu’s family members have reached the spot and their statements are being recorded,” he said.
