To bolster tourism ties between the United Kingdom and Uzbekistan, a high-profile meeting was recently held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London with Amrit Singh, the Co-Founder and Managing Director of the renowned British travel company Transindus, the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan reported.
Transindus, established in 1989, specializes in organizing and facilitating tourist groups, predominantly focusing on Asian destinations. The discussions at the meeting centered around strategies to enhance the influx of British tourists to Uzbekistan and the collaborative organization of promotional events aimed at showcasing the diverse tourism opportunities in the Central Asian nation.
During the talks, the head of Transindus expressed appreciation for the progressive reforms in Uzbekistan's tourism sector, including the development of new tourist complexes and the implementation of visa-free entry for visitors from over 90 countries. The safety of Uzbekistan as a tourist destination was underscored, and the convenience of direct flights connecting London and Tashkent was acknowledged as a contributing factor to the increasing popularity of the country among British tourists in recent years.
As a tangible outcome of the meeting, an agreement was reached to facilitate the visit of 2,500 British tourists to Uzbekistan in the upcoming year. Both parties also committed to showcasing the tourism potential of Uzbekistan at the prestigious "Destinations: The Holiday and Travel Show," scheduled to take place from February 1 to 4 in London. Additionally, plans were set in motion to organize an exclusive exhibition titled "Uzbekistan – Your Next Destination" specifically targeting British travel companies and media representatives.
Earlier, Daryo reported that the Embassy of Uzbekistan in London also hosted a significant meeting with Eman Mustafa, CEO of the British Islamic Trade Association, to enhance the popularity of halal products from Uzbekistan and promote pilgrimage tourism destinations. The discussions underscored the potential for strengthened bilateral trade and economic relations by actively involving Uzbekistan's tourism companies and halal product manufacturers in major exhibitions organized by the British Islamic Trade Association.
A key outcome of the meeting was an agreement to extensively promote Uzbekistan's tourism potential among the Muslim British public. Both parties pledged to collaborate on promotional activities and ensure the active participation of Uzbekistan travel companies in upcoming halal tourism festivals in the United Kingdom.
