The Environmental Department of Tashkent city has initiated monitoring activities to assess the protection of atmospheric air in manufacturing enterprises falling under the I and II categories in Sergeli and Yangihayot districts.
On January 6, the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Tashkent City Prosecutor's Office, along with the Department of Environmental Monitoring, Climate Change, and Combating Desertification (Analytical Laboratory), conducted monitoring operations.
During these inspections, specific instructions were issued to enterprises in the district regarding the proper functioning of dust and gas cleaning equipment, maintaining adequate levels of dust and gas cleaning, and minimizing the emission of harmful substances into the atmosphere, in compliance with environmental regulations.
"At present, ecologists are conducting monitoring patrols using a mobile ecological laboratory to measure the concentration of harmful particles in the air. Priority is given to areas housing large enterprises and factories. Subsequent events of this nature are scheduled to occur 2-3 times per week," as per the statement from the Tashkent City Ecology Department's press service.
Blogger Nikita Makarenko recently highlighted concerns that several significant factories in Sergeli and Yangihayat districts are releasing substantial amounts of harmful substances into the air. He suggested the installation of filters to address this issue, emphasizing that the lack of implementation is attributed to cost considerations.
Above is the air quality observed on the evening of January 3 in Yangihayot district of Tashkent city. The residents claimed that the air smelled weirdly.
Ongoing collaborative learning activities are part of the current initiatives to ensure environmental compliance and public health.
