Tajikistan and Turkey have strengthened their economic and financial ties with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Minister of Finance of Tajikistan, Faiziddin Kakhhorzoda, and the Minister of Treasury and Finance of Turkey, Mehmet Şimşek. The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation in public financial management, fostering efficiency and collaboration between the two nations, Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan reported.
The discussions during the visit focused on key areas of cooperation, including the implementation of reforms in the public financial management system. Special attention was given to reforms in education and healthcare, conducted in collaboration with the World Health Organization and the World Bank. Other topics included the digitalization of public services, the development of non-cash payment methods, and the advancement of the state electronic payment system.
This memorandum underscores the commitment of Tajikistan and Turkey to fostering mutual development and cooperation in various crucial sectors, ultimately contributing to the economic growth and well-being of both nations.
In the words of the Tajik Ministry of Finance, this regulatory act will pave the way for an expanded and more efficient partnership between the two countries, benefiting public financial management initiatives on both sides.
Earlier Daryo reported that the initial consultation session of the high-level working group discussing the transport corridor involving Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, and Turkey occurred in Dushanbe, according to the Ministry of Transport. Experts from the Center for the Study of Transport and Logistics Development Issues participated in the meeting under the auspices of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO). Following the Ankara Declaration from the 11th gathering of transport ministers in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), an agreement was reached to establish a project program to advance the multimodal transport corridor in these nations.
