The Uzcharmsanoat association has inaugurated a new Uzbekistan trading house in Baku, Azerbaijan’s capital. The opening ceremony, which took place on December 1st, showcased products from over 10 sectors of the Uzbek economy, including building materials, household appliances, electronics, plumbing, furniture, textiles, and leather goods.
The trading house aims to cater to the increasing demand for products branded “Made in Uzbekistan”. As noted by the Uzbek ambassador to Azerbaijan, Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov, the trade turnover between the two countries has seen a ninefold increase over the past six years.
In addition to facilitating the sale of goods, the trading house also plans to attract mutual investment. Ramin Sharifov, the head of the trading house, highlighted the interest in bilateral business cooperation.
A working trip for Azerbaijani entrepreneurs to Uzbekistan is planned shortly, with the primary goal of supporting exports and co-production. The opening ceremony also saw negotiations between KFK and Air-ul-Baxr, part of Uzcharmsanoat, and local suppliers, with agreements reached on the supply of special shoes for the industrial and construction industries from Uzbekistan.
