President Japarov expressed the historic significance of his visit, describing it as a momentous occasion for Kyrgyzstan. Highlighting Kyrgyzstan's commitment to democratic principles since gaining independence in 1991, President Japarov thanked the Japanese government for its continuous support in stregthening democracy and facilitating socio-economic progress in the Central Asian nation.
The president underscored the need to strengthen inter-parliamentary ties, considering them instrumental in fostering robust diplomatic relations. He reiterated Kyrgyzstan's dedication to democratic ideals and expressed eagerness to learn from Japan's experience in parliamentary practices.
In response, Speaker Fukushiro Nukaga acknowledged the longstanding diplomatic relations between the two nations, celebrating the 30th anniversary of their establishment last year. He commended the progress achieved in interparliamentary cooperation over the past three decades, noting the high level of trust between Kyrgyzstan and Japan.
Expressing satisfaction with the democratic advancements in Kyrgyzstan, Speaker Nukaga affirmed Japan's interest in deepening inter-parliamentary collaboration. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the traditional spirit of mutual understanding between the two countries and their respective parliamentary bodies.
Earlier during the visit, President Japarov, accompanied by his wife Aigul Japarova, engaged in discussions with Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako at the Imperial Palace. The leaders focused on fostering stronger diplomatic and economic ties between Kyrgyzstan and Japan.
