In the first nine months of 2023, Uzbekistan demonstrated strong trade performance, establishing relations with 193 countries and achieving substantial growth in its foreign trade turnover.
Statistics provided by the country's agency reported that the foreign trade turnover exceeded $44.7bn during this period, marking an increase of 22.1% compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.
Uzbekistan maintained a balanced foreign trade profile during this period, with exports reaching $17.7bn and imports at $27bn.
Several countries played pivotal roles in Uzbekistan's foreign trade, including China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and the Republic of Korea. China accounted for 21.1% of Uzbekistan's total foreign trade turnover, while Russia and Kazakhstan contributed 15.7% and 7.2%, respectively. Turkey and South Korea, with shares of 5.3% and 3.8%, also featured prominently in the country's trade network.
