On October 28, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan held a phone conversation with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, the presidential press service reported.
During their conversation, President Mirziyoyev expressed sincere condolences to Tokayev regarding the tragic consequences of the mine accident in the Karaganda region. As of now, the explosion has claimed the lives of 32 individuals, and 14 miners remain missing.
Mirziyoyev expressed hope for the swift rescue of the remaining miners in the mine, emphasizing Uzbekistan's readiness to provide necessary assistance in dealing with the incident's aftermath. Furthermore, they discussed pertinent bilateral and regional matters.
Previously, President Tokayev of Kazakhstan stated that the circumstances of the accident will be determined, and the affected individuals and the families of the deceased miners will receive the required assistance. He ordered a thorough investigation into the accident's circumstances and the implementation of appropriate measures.
