Kazakhstan and Türkiye have agreed to simplify customs procedures for exporters.
The senators of Kazakhstan have ratified an agreement that prioritizes border processes, simplifies customs formalities, and reduces inspections unless there is suspicion of smuggling.
The lawmakers believe these new rules will create better conditions for foreign economic activity participants.
Türkiye is one of Kazakhstan's largest trade and economic partners, with last year's bilateral trade volume exceeding $6bn.
During the Senate's plenary session, MP Nuria Niyazova stated, "The proposed law aims to enhance customs control efficiency and reduce processing time by implementing electronic information exchange for goods and vehicles moving between Kazakhstan and Türkiye."
She added that Türkiye ranks third in trade with Kazakhstan (excluding EAEU member states) after China and Italy, respectively.
Yerzhan Birzhanov, Deputy Minister of Finance of Kazakhstan, explained that "the new procedure will involve an earlier inspection process, with cargo declarations made online by participants taking goods out of Türkiye."
