UzAuto Motors, the prominent automobile manufacturer, in Uzbekistan has witnessed a remarkable surge in demand for its Chevrolet Lacetti, Cobalt, Damas, and Labo cars. In a recent development, the company swiftly resumed the issuance of contracts for additional vehicle volumes, resulting in an astonishing response from consumers, Gazeta.uz reported on August 14.
Swift resumption of contracts
UzAuto Motors recently announced the reinstatement of car contracts along with the introduction of new configurations on August 4. Subsequently, the company swiftly reached full contracting capacity for the additional 2023 batch of cars by August 5. This rapid success was highlighted by the signing of over 50,000 purchase contracts for Chevrolet Lacetti, Cobalt, Damas, and Labo vehicles in less than a day. The demand for these vehicles was so significant that numerous car dealerships saw the formation of long queues as customers eagerly sought to secure agreements for the purchase of these cars. The immense interest demonstrated by consumers underscores the popularity of UzAuto Motors' offerings.
Full payment and production alignment
Despite the provision that unfulfilled contracts would be available for re-contracting after seven days, UzAuto Motors reported that all contracts were fully paid. Since August 4, customers have collectively paid for approximately 51,000 vehicles, aligning with UzAuto Motors' production plans until the end of 2023. This synchronisation ensures that the company's plants can meet the heightened demand without compromising the manufacturing process.
UzAuto Motors has clarified that due to the company's transition to a production schedule-based sales approach, all cars under the concluded contracts will be delivered to owners in 2023. This timeframe will not exceed three months from the contract's conclusion. To mitigate long waiting periods, contracting for vehicles manufactured in 2024 will be announced at a later date through official company channels.
To avoid speculation and potential disruptions, UzAuto Motors issued a warning against purchasing contracts for these vehicles from unauthorised sources. The company highlighted its prerogative to extend the issuance timeline for cars sold to resellers up to 270 days, emphasising its commitment to maintaining a streamlined and organised contracting process.
