The process of accepting applications and appeals for the upcoming open dialogue between the President of Uzbekistan and entrepreneurs has commenced, the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade informs.
Scheduled for August 20, the event is expected to draw thousands of businesspersons, both participating online and in person. The primary objective of this dialogue is to identify systemic challenges faced by entrepreneurs, find effective solutions, and foster the further growth of entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan.
To facilitate the preparations, the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade has collaborated with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Business Ombudsman to establish call centers and analytical teams catering to entrepreneurs' needs. Various ministries and agencies have been actively engaged in this process, with regional headquarters set up in different regions.
Applications and proposals can be submitted through phone numbers 1094 and 1100 or in writing via the business.gov.uz portal, operating 24/7. All received applications to be thoroughly considered.
Despite having a two-year history of such communication formats, the preparations for this year's event have already garnered more than 27,000 applications and proposals aimed at improving the business environment. The constructive and open suggestions have led to the formulation of a new reform program. This will mark the third open dialogue to be held this year.
In recent years, the significance of entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan has been highlighted with the designation of August 20 as the "Day of Entrepreneurs" by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The occasion is now celebrated annually, and in the first dialogue in 2021, around ten thousand businessmen actively participated. Last year, the President introduced the "Active Entrepreneur" badge, awarded to 71 entrepreneurs in recognition of their contributions.
