The Department of Medicines and Medical Supplies in Kyrgyzstan started the second stage of the drug tracking system on July 1. This phase mandates the control and monitoring of specific drugs, which the Department has listed on its website. The governmental body is also conducting repeat training for pharmacists in Batken and Osh regions to ensure the safety and quality of medicines consumed by the population.
Besides, Emergency Medicine Center Chief Iskender Shayakhmetov announced that a one-year training program in emergency medicine would open this year due to a shortage of specialists.
The Ministry of Health has prepared documents for the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy and the medical faculty of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University to train emergency doctors.
The program will consist of six months of training in reception departments of hospitals and six months of work at emergency stations, including three months of training in specialized medical teams and three months in general medical groups.
Shayakhmetov stated that this way, young specialists will be available for work at emergency stations in a year. The training of pediatricians, which was previously closed, will be restored to address the shortage of pediatricians in healthcare organizations.
