Kazakhstan is currently working on 83 infrastructure projects aimed at improving the country's investment attractiveness and tourist infrastructure.
These include the development of nature reserves, construction and reconstruction of roads in the Imantau and Shalkar resort area, and mid-level repair of the 15 km long approaching road to Zhasybai Lake.
28 projects were completed last year, including utility projects in the Balkhash resort area and construction of a road to the beach in the city of Aktau. In addition, the opening of airports in Usharal and Urdzhar has expandedd air services.
Earlier, Daryo reported that Kazakhstan plans to prioritize tourism for economic growth with a new Tourism Development Concept for 2023-2029, focusing on destination promotion, infrastructure development, and service improvement. On July 10, Askhat Oralov, Kazakhstan's Minister of Culture and Sports, shared on Facebook the country's plan to attract 11mn domestic and 4mn international tourists by 2030.
