Uzbekistan is currently playing host to a vibrant celebration of Kazakh culture as part of the Kazakh Culture Days event, organized by the Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Sports, Astana Times reported.
The festivities, taking place from June 20 to June 23, aim to foster cultural exchange and strengthen the bonds between the two neighboring nations.
The event kicked off with a grand gala concert on June 20, which featured renowned Kazakh singers, talented young performers who have won national and international competitions, as well as captivating performances by the Gulder ensemble and the ethnic and folk ensemble Turan. The concert showcased the richness and diversity of Kazakh music, captivating the audience with its melodic tunes and soul-stirring performances.
One of the highlights of Kazakh Culture Days is the performance of the Turan ensemble, which will collaborate with the esteemed Symphony Orchestra of Uzbekistan under the direction of principal conductor Alibek Kabdurakhmanov. The ensemble’s program, Folk & Symphony, combines symphony orchestra and ancient folk instruments and will be presented in Uzbekistan for the first time.
On June 22, the Nurafshon Palace of Culture in the historic city of Samarkand will host a captivating performance by artists from "Kazakhconcert." The talented ensemble will continue to showcase the beauty and depth of Kazakh traditional music and dance. The following day, on June 23, the Youth Center concert hall in Bukhara will be the venue for another remarkable performance by Kazakh artists, leaving the local audience spellbound.
On June 23, a highlight of the Kazakh Culture Days will be the performance of the opera "Abai" at the prestigious Navoi Uzbekistan State Academic Bolshoi Theatre. The renowned Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre will bring this timeless masterpiece to life on the legendary stage, offering a profound cultural experience to the spectators.
In addition to the musical performances, the Kazakh Cinema Days have been captivating the citizens of Uzbekistan with a selection of notable Kazakh films. The festivities began with a screening of the 1989 film "Sultan Baybars," directed by the esteemed Kazakh director and screenwriter Bolat Mansurov.
Throughout the Kazakh Cinema Days, various films such as "Mukagali" by Bolat Kalymbetov, "Dos-Mukasan" by Aidyn Sakhaman, "On the Starting Line" by Ernar Nurgaliyev, "Summer of 1941" by Bekbolat Shekerov, and the inspiring sports drama "Paralympian" directed by Aldiyar Bairakimov will be showcased.
Additionally, animated pictures like "The Youngest Daughter," "Lullaby," and "The Tree of Amen Aga" will provide delightful entertainment for younger viewers.
