On Monday, June 19, Lithuanian Minister of Transport and Communications, Marius Skuodis, urged Lithuanian drivers to bring their car first aid kits to collection points by July 1, where they will be sent to Ukraine, Novaya gazeta.Baltic States reports.
Lithuanian minister stated, "Lithuania hears the request for help from Ukraine. While broken things can be replaced with new ones, one thing is priceless in Ukraine's fight: the lives and health of military personnel and civilians. Therefore, we call on the residents of Lithuania to donate their replaceable first aid kits to Ukrainians."
The initiator of the campaign, the leader of the association "Po mažą žingsnį" ("Step by Step"), Oksana Paskaviciene, said, "We know that at the moment, bandages and other medical supplies are especially important and necessary for those wounded in war. Starting from July 1, 2023, Lithuanian drivers are required to update or purchase new car first aid kits, and the old kits will no longer be needed or used. However, they can become valuable support for the defenders of Ukraine and the civilian population. We will strive to collect as many first aid kits as possible, which will be distributed both in the combat zone and among the civilian population".
