President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan has dismissed claims of alleged foreign land sales as false and misinformation. Speaking at the National Kurultai in Turkistan city, the President emphasized the importance of preserving the nation's territory and refuted any notion of foreign ownership, tengrinews.kz reports.
He stated, "Our land is our greatest wealth. It is the foundation of our state. Our ancestors bequeathed us a vast territory, and it is our duty to safeguard and ensure its prosperity. Claims that our land is being sold to foreigners are falsehoods and misinformation. We have already made fundamental decisions on land matters, solidified by law. We will always remain faithful to the legacy of our forebears. Not an inch, not a handful of our land will be given to foreigners. We will cherish it as the apple of our eye."
President Tokayev further highlighted the significance of the situation in border regions, stating that it directly affects the country's territorial integrity and well-being. He noted the decline in population in some border towns, partly influenced by past decisions to merge certain districts.
"Last year, the Abay, Ulytau, and Zhetisu regions were established, contributing to the robust development of these areas", added the President of Kazakhstan.
