In Fergana region of Uzbekistan, animal abusers locked a cat in a cage and burned it alive.
An administrative protocol was drawn up against the individuals under Article 111 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Cruelty to Animals), and a fine was imposed, as reported by the Fergana Regional Police Department.
Law enforcement officers urged Uzbekistan's residents to treat animals with care.
This case is one of the numerous cases of animal cruelty in the country. On June 12, in Jizzakh region, a man used a chainsaw to cut off a dog's nose. Prior to the act of torture, he had tied up the animal. He was fined between $100 and $300.
