The BBC has compiled a list of the 100 best books of all time and Gafur Ghulam's work "The Mischievous Boy" is also included in it.
"The Mischievous Boy" is a story written by Gafur Ghulam and one of his most renowned works. Ghulam was an Uzbek poet, writer, and literary translator who passed away in 1966 at the age of 63.
The story revolves around a young boy named Azizbek, known for his mischievous behavior. Despite his parents' efforts to discipline him, Azizbek continues to engage in pranks and troublemaking. One day, he plays a prank on a wise old man, resulting in a valuable lesson about the consequences of his actions. Through this experience, Azizbek learns the importance of kindness, empathy, and taking responsibility for his behavior. The story highlights the transformation of a mischievous boy into a more thoughtful and considerate individual.
The ranking is based on a survey of children's authors, illustrators, editors, publishers, librarians, and readers from around the world. The first place in the list was taken by Maurice Sendak's fairy tale "Where the Animals Live".
The list also includes Rowling's Harry Potter books, Antoine de Saint-Exupery's The Little Prince, and Grimm's fairy tales.
