Biden told reporters before flying to his other residence in Camp David (Maryland) that the US Secret Service is working to make President Joe Biden bulletproof, the White House press service reports.
"The reason I can't go to Camp David is that the Secret Service is currently working in my home and ensuring its protection. That's why I can't go home. They told me it will take about five weeks," said the President of the United States.
The statement did not specify which home Biden was referring to. The mention of Camp David indicates that there may be an upcoming event or ceremony on May 28 that requires his presence and participation.
The Secret Service of the United States is responsible for the protection of the country's highest-ranking individuals and their family members.
The American president has several residences, but the main one is located in Wilmington, Delaware, as reported by Politico. In April, the state leader informed journalists that Secret Service personnel were installing unremovable screens at that location.
Delaware is Biden's home state. The president and his spouse have two homes there - one in Wilmington and the other in Rehoboth Beach, according to Newsweek.
