Bishkek proposes to introduce electronic bracelets for spying on suspects, the press service of the government of the Kyrgyz Republic informs.
According to the Minister of Justice of Kyrgyzstan, Ayaz Baetov, “an electronic bracelet can improve the work of law enforcement agencies with criminal elements and will reduce the burden on penitentiary institutions (prisons) of the Kyrgyz Republic.”
He stressed that the use of such gadgets will be the next stage in the development of the penitentiary system in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The novelty will be introduced in Bishkek first, and if successfully implemented, throughout the country.
It is proposed to use e-bracelets for those convicted of cases of domestic violence. This type of punishment will not be used for suspects who have committed serious crimes.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov said there should be a thorough study of foreign experience in this area.
