Taliban has issued orders to ban women from walking in certain provinces during Ramadan, specifically in Tahor and Baghlan, Hasht-e Subh Daily reports.
Additionally, the leadership of the Taliban's hajj and donations department sent a letter to imams and preachers, instructing them to use the name of Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada when delivering Eid prayers.
The letter also stated that the leader's congratulatory message should be read as part of the sermon. They have also instructed people to avoid going to the homes of the deceased for mourning during Eid and have prohibited illegal games such as egg beating and chicken beating.
It is not new for the Taliban to impose restrictions on women's social lives. Previously, Afghan women were forbidden from working in UN offices, men from sewing clothes for women, and women from visiting male doctors, wedding halls, universities, schools, hospitals alone, and amusement parks.
