Kazakhstan is establishing a trading house in Afghanistan, with its headquarters in Herat, "Daryo" correspondent in Afghanistan reports.
The statement was made during a business event in Kabul between Kazakhstan and Afghanistan, which was attended by 18 Kazakh entrepreneurs-exporters in the food industry, as well as Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Trade and Integration Serik Jumangarin. The trading house is planned to provide a platform for both nations' business circles, hosting events in a "business to business" manner.
Kazakhstan has previously sent humanitarian goods to the Taliban in Afghanistan, and the nation intends to use the trading house to send bread, grain, railway technical equipment, and oil. There is no current word on when the project will launch. Meanwhile, the Taliban administration in Afghanistan is willing to resume operations at the Afghan diplomatic mission in Astana, with the Kazakh side offering to admit Taliban diplomats. However, Kazakhstan has yet to issue an official statement on this deal.
Despite the Taliban's reign over Afghanistan for a year and a half, no government in the world has acknowledged their organization. Nevertheless, Afghanistan's embassies in Russia, China, Turkmenistan, Iran, and Pakistan have been turned over to the Taliban.
Separately, a Chinese "Gochin" company's executives recently declared during a meeting with Taliban leaders in Kabul that they intend to spend $10 billion on lithium deposits in Afghanistan.
