On April 3, Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting to discuss the ways of improvement of public buildings' heating systems in Uzbekistan. The President's press service reports.
According to reports, 15,000 buildings which urgently need to be overhauled waste a whopping 35% of energy.
An experiment conducted in the Boston district on updating and managing the heating system by the private sector where the heating boilers were upgraded significantly reduced energy consumption.
The meeting discussed the possibility of outsourcing, the heating system management to the private sector. Half of the necessary funds will be used from the state budget, and the rest is covered by a private partner who will be exempted for 2 years from customs duty payment for boilers.
The head of state approved these proposals and gave instructions on organizational and financial issues.
With the participation of investors, a task was given to launch the production of energy-efficient heating boilers.
In recent years, coal production has increased from 3 million tons to 5.4 million tons. This year, it is planned to extract about 6 million tons. The President gave instructions on involving the private sector and new technologies in the development of prospective mines, and improving the quality of coal.
