March 9, Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the president of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Jin Liqun.
The head of state noted the positive progress of bilateral cooperation in recent years in the transport, energy, agriculture and utility sectors which reached $2 billion.
Jin Liqun highly appreciated the program of irreversible reforms in New Uzbekistan and expressed his readiness to fully support it.
The parties agreed to continue the development of a new medium-term Partnership program and road map aimed at accelerating the implementation of projects.
The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank is an international financial institution proposed by China which strives to promote financial cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, and fund infrastructure projects in the whole of Asia, from the construction of roads and airports to communication and economy-class housing.
Uzbekistan became a member of the organization on October 14, 2014. As of 2022, which consists of 89 countries (57 founder states).
