A conference held at the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the topic "Human rights in Islam: history and the present" focus on strengthening and ensuring human rights in Islamic law, which is an integral part of the history of Uzbek national statehood. This is reported by the press service of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
The first deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, A. Saidov, emphasized the importance of Islamic jurisprudence and the fact that promoting our great spiritual heritage to the general public is one of the most important issues of today.
The participants discussed the constitutional guarantees of personal rights and freedoms of people and citizens in Muslim countries, mutual relations between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Republic of Uzbekistan in the provision of human rights, education in Islamic law, and religious tolerance in Islam and other religions.
It is worth noting that such conferences are of particular importance in terms of in-depth study of the history of our national statehood, conveying it to the younger generation, carrying out scientific research in this field, and in addition, getting acquainted with the mechanisms of ensuring human rights in Muslim countries.
