In November 2022, Uzbekistan’s auto sales gained momentum with a 41% increase compared to October, as over 159,000 vehicles were sold in the republic over one month, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR) informed on Thursday (December 15). At the same time, the agency notes that sales of new passenger cars of domestic production increased by 58% and foreign vehicles by 69%.
The most significant sales growth in November was recorded in the Tashkent (by two times), Ferghana (by 57%), and Surkhandarya (by 47%) regions. Since the year started, car sales in the republic saw a two-fold surge compared to the same period last year and amounted to 1.3mn vehicles.
In November, sales of cars in the primary car market increased significantly; in particular, the number of registered vehicles increased by more than 57% to 33,000 in a month and by 68% in a year.
The number of offers on the secondary market of motor vehicles has also expanded significantly. In November, more than 126,000 cars were sold in the republic, which is 38% more than in October. Over the year, the secondary car market has grown 2.5 times.
Sales of home-brand passenger cars in November amounted to 27,000, an increase of 58% compared to October, surging by 70% compared to last year.
Over one month, the sales volume of new foreign-made cars soared by 69.6% to 2.9 thousand, while a two-fold increase compared to last year was noted.
