On October 7, Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in an informal meeting of the heads of states of the Commonwealth of Independent States in St. Petersburg, the Uzbek President’s press service reports.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Azerbaijan Ilhom Aliyev, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan also were present in the summit.
The state leaders discussed the issues related to preparations for the next meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS, which will be held in Astana next week.
They also touched upon the expansion of close relations in trade-economic, investment, and transport-communication spheres between the member states.
President Mirziyoyev departed from St. Petersburg to Tashkent on the same day.
